Luxury Holiday Villas in Gocek Turkey

Gocek Bobbing bowsprits, busy bistros, and bustling shops.

On the curve of the Mediterranean coastline which runs from Dalaman to Kas lies Gocek, it is only 20 minutes from the airport – so you can relax into your holiday almost immediately after arriving in Turkey.

Here are pleasant, well-kept seafront bars and bistros, smart boutiques, well-stocked little shops and a clean and pretty market square. A walk along the seafront, with the coastal hills rising all around you and bowsprits of all kinds bobbing maritime greeting to you, is a delight.

Gocek bay is populated with a family of twelve picturesque islands. Many have sandy beaches, some with delightful restaurants and some are historically significant, you could visit Cleopatra’s Island, said to have been a gift to the Egyptian beauty from Mark Antony. The ruins of her “Haman” – Turkish bath – are still to be found there and, indeed, bathed in.

Gocek is also well-placed to serve as a base from which to explore many of Turkey’s most popular places – the Blue Lagoon of Oludeniz, the Greek ghost town of Kaya, and of course, Dalyan, with its rock caves, healthy mud baths, and turtles. The ancient Lycian capital of Xanthos is within striking distance and with it the Hidden Canyon, the deep gorge gouged by the rushing waters of the Xanthos river. Tlos, too, is accessible from Gocek.
